Co-Chairs:  Heather Carmichael, Jack Gonzalez

The purpose of the homeless outreach subcommittee is to provide a forum for advocacy, problem solving and creation of an effective service delivery network for the homeless population in Hollywood.

Our group aims to resolve issues of conflict, recommend policy changes to local government officials and provides a forum for the discussion of ideas among law enforcement officials, other City employees, Neighborhood Council members, service agencies, religious institutions, the homeless and other members of the greater Hollywood community.

We meet on an as needed basis addressing both critical and ongoing issues as they impact the community

PARTICIPATING AGENCIES:

•    Los Angeles Police Department LAPD
•    Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD)
•    County Department of Mental Health
•    Bureau of Sanitation
•    Gettlove
•    Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership (HHYP): Angel’s Flight, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, Covenant House California, L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, Los Angeles Youth Network, My Friend’s Place, and Saban Free Clinic
•    P.A.T.H. Regional Homeless Center

We understand that homelessness in our community is not solely a social service problem nor a law enforcement issue, but a broader social and economic issue that requires the whole communities’ care and concern.  We are interested in engaging all sectors of the Hollywood community in our efforts to prevent and end homelessness.
